HONORS BIOLOGY
Animal Behavior Analysis
The purpose of this project is to show the importance of female individuals, from animals of all sort to humans. I believe that the creation of matriarchy was a result of the before created belief, patriarchy. Men and women are separated since the beginning of history, representing two different but very similar characters. It is known that humans have different roles and reproductive systems, known as genders. The lioness is known as the "weak" gender for many people because the lion is the "king of the jungle" for being faster, stronger, and more agile. The lioness has really great characteristics as well, for example, this felidae is a very good hunter, protector, and coordinator than the rest of the group. |
Wall Planter
The idea of this project was to bring more life and beautifulness to the sitting area in the school garden. My partner and I planted some flowers with different colors and sizes. The majority of the flowers did not grew on time and some of them died. We end up using some of the flowers that survived and others that we planted from past projects. We decided to use the color sky blue to paint the surface wall because our idea was to create a sky effect and a contrast to the rest of the garden. It is not shown in the picture, but we hang the pots separately in the wall. The final result could have been improved, but we were short on time and needed to finish this project. In order to make this project more creative and fun I would have used colorful flowers and pots. |
HONORS HUMANITIES
Matriarchy Takeover
This project is a combination of Biology and Humanities class. The main message from this project was the definition of matriarchy and how it was involved in our type of society. Matriarchy is a system of society ruled by women, just like Patriarchy is ruled by men. I came up with the question what impact does Matriarchy have in the world? referring to students at my school. There were many words that students responded this question with: powerful, strong, fearless. In this project I used the misconceptions and real definitions of a matriarchal society. Learning about matriarchy made me realize how we are all equal no matter the gender, ethnicity or religion.

HONORS MATH
EdX
During the first semester of math honors I joined the online course "Question Everything: Scientific Thinking in Real Life" in order to complete my class requirements. This course was about the different perspectives of mathematics and science, it showed how we can apply these perspectives into reality. Throughout the course, I learned to see the studies of math and science differently by looking for distinct solutions and to use my own personal experiences to solve any problem. |
Coursera
The second semester of math honors I completed the online course "Introduction to Calculus" and was very useful. This course introduced the different root topics of calculus including limits, differential calculus, integral calculus, special functions and numbers, numerical integration, series, etc. This course was very informative because it showed me different topics that I have never practiced before or that I did not know of and helped me to introduce new topics on my math learning journey. |
ART
Internship Rotoscope Animation
This project is based on a real-life video that I got to take during my internship experience. The short video is part of a choreography I learned at the end of my internship. The finished product of this two second video took thirty-six frames of different sections of the completed video in order to have a completed rotoscope animation.

Women's Rights in Sports
The purpose of this project is to visualize creative thinking about important issues that are not really talked about in our society. These issues are the discrimination of women rights in sports, for both athletes and leaders. With further investigation that my partners and I did, we found out that there are less women athletes that participate in every sport, than males. This is a drastic, but expected result because male athletes are more supported by society than women athletes. As far as leaders in sports, such as coaches and representatives, the majority of them are males, which puts into perspective what is going wrong in our society. We can change these issues by teaching our community what are the issues that society is experiencing and influence other adults and students.

Creative Painting
This piece of art was our last project from this class and was by far my favorite. This painting projected my creative side and my interests at the same time. My inspiration for this piece was the quote "Life's a beach, enjoy the waves". This quote puts into perspective the meaning of life and how it is connected to nature. Throughout my high school career, I have found some interest in the importance of mental health and how it makes a difference to take care of yourself and getting to get to know your own person every single day. I have found that it is also important to try your best at work/school or anything that you are doing in life, but to not forget to keep living and enjoy life. |
